Best Comedy Clubs in Brooklyn
By Yaro Zubko
Brooklyn is where a lot of New York comedy actually happens. Manhattan has the famous clubs, but Brooklyn has the rooms where comics try new material, where improv teams build a following, and where you can see a great show for ten or twenty dollars.

I work as a comic in New York, and I spend a lot of nights in rooms like these. Some are big and polished. Some are small, loud, and a little rough around the edges. That is part of the point.

Prices change by show, so treat every price below as a typical range, not a promise. Always check the show page before you go.
Quick picks

The Bell House — Gowanus — A big night out, touring comics — $15-35 for regular shows, more for festivals and big names

Littlefield — Gowanus — Comedy, music, and variety in one room — $25-45 in the November 2026 listings I checked

Union Hall — Park Slope — A relaxed night, food and drinks upstairs, comedy downstairs — $15-25 for regular shows

Brooklyn Comedy Collective — East Williamsburg — Improv, sketch, and alt comedy — $10-20

EastVille Comedy Club — Downtown Brooklyn — Classic stand-up, close to Barclays Center — $7-35, most prime stand-up $20-30

The Tiny Cupboard — Bushwick — Cheap, intimate stand-up and open mics — $10-20

Flop House Comedy Club — Williamsburg — Indie stand-up, no drink minimum — $10-20
The Bell House is the big room on this list. It is a converted 1920s warehouse in Gowanus. When a well known comic comes to Brooklyn, this is often where they play. Best for a big night out, a birthday group, or seeing a name you already know.

Address: 149 7th St, Brooklyn, NY 11215, Gowanus

Subway: F, G, or R to Smith-9th Sts, then a short walk

Typical prices: $15-35 for regular stand-up. Festival shows and big names cost more.

Age: 21+, with valid photo ID, per the venue's own visit page

Tip: Seating is mixed seated and standing, first come first served. Arrive at least 45 minutes early to sit together.
Littlefield is a short walk from the Bell House in Gowanus. It has hosted comedy, music, dance parties, and podcasts since 2009. Best for a mixed night, without the strict club format.

Address: 635 Sackett St, Brooklyn, NY 11217, Gowanus. Note: 622 Degraw St is an old address that still shows up in some listings.

Subway: R to Union St, or F and G to Bergen St or Carroll St

Typical prices: $25-45 in the November 2026 listings I checked

Age: 21+ for the shows listed on the venue site at the time I checked

Tip: This is a warehouse room, not a seated theater. Plan to stand or move around if the show is busy.
Union Hall is the easiest room on this list to just walk into. Upstairs is a bar and restaurant. Downstairs is a smaller bar venue where the comedy and music happen. Best for a relaxed night in Park Slope, especially if you want dinner or drinks before the show.

Address: 702 Union St, Brooklyn, NY 11215, Park Slope, at 5th Ave

Subway: R to Union St is closest

Typical prices: $15-25 for regular shows.

Age: Children welcome before 6pm with an adult, strictly 21+ after 6pm, per the venue's info page

Tip: Shows downstairs are mixed seated and standing, with limited seats. Arrive early. Food and drinks can be bought during the show.
Brooklyn Comedy Collective, or BCC, is a comedy theater and school in East Williamsburg, built for improv and sketch, with stand-up mixed in. Best for improv and alt comedy.

Address: Eris, 167 Graham Ave, and the Pig Pen, 144 Boerum St, Brooklyn, NY 11206, East Williamsburg

Subway: L to Montrose Ave, a two minute walk, per BCC. G to Broadway, or J, M, and Z to Flushing Ave, about eight minutes.

Typical prices: $10-20. Most shows I checked were $12-17.

Age: Eris 21+, except minors with a parent or guardian. Pig Pen 18+, per BCC.

Tip: Buy in advance. BCC says shows regularly sell out, and it holds at least 10 tickets at the door. Eris has a full bar and free popcorn, but no food. The Pig Pen has no alcohol.
EastVille calls itself Brooklyn's oldest comedy club, and it is the most traditional club on this list. It is a small retro room near Barclays Center. Best for classic stand-up, especially if you are coming from Manhattan.

Address: 487 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217, Downtown Brooklyn, near Barclays Center

Subway: 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R to Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center, or 2 and 3 to Bergen St

Typical prices: $7-35 in November 2026. Most prime stand-up $20-30.

Age and drink policy: Check the show page before you go. Listings for this club conflict on age and drink rules, so do not trust a single summary.

Tip: Seating is first come first served. Arrive about 30 minutes early for a good seat.
The Tiny Cupboard is a small indie comedy club and board game bar in Bushwick. It started in 2019 in a 153 square foot art studio, and it still feels small and personal. Best for a cheap night out, for first timers, and for seeing rising comics up close.

Address: 10 Cooper St, Brooklyn, NY 11207, Bushwick

Subway: L to Jefferson St, or M to Central Ave, per current local guides

Typical prices: $10-20. Best of Brooklyn was $10, the open mic $13.50, festival shows $19.50.

Age: I could not verify a clear age policy on the club's own site, so check the show page.

Tip: Shows run two to four times a night. Book the early show for a quieter crowd, and the late show for a looser room.
Flop House is an indie club in Williamsburg, run by comedians. Lineups mix rising comics with names from Netflix and HBO, and the club states clearly that it has no drink minimum. Best for a low pressure indie night in Williamsburg.

Address: 362 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY 11211, Williamsburg. Note: Flop House also lists shows at other addresses on its site. This guide is only about the Grand St room.

Subway: L to Lorimer St or G to Metropolitan Ave, or J and M to Marcy Ave, per current listings

Typical prices: $10-20. The 11pm show was $12.51, Good Comics $17.85.

Age: I could not verify a clear age policy on the club's own site, so check the show page.

Tip: Book in advance for Friday and Saturday, as the late shows sell out.
How to choose
For a date night, pick Union Hall or the Bell House. Union Hall gives you dinner, drinks, and comedy in one building. The Bell House feels like an event.

For a cheap night, pick the Tiny Cupboard, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, or Flop House. All three regularly have shows for $10-20. At EastVille, the $7-10 open mic and amateur shows are also cheap.

For improv instead of stand-up, pick Brooklyn Comedy Collective. It is the only room on this list built mainly for improv, sketch, and character work.

For first timers, pick EastVille or the Tiny Cupboard. Both are small and friendly, and you sit close to the stage.

FAQ
How much does a comedy night in Brooklyn cost?

For most rooms on this list, plan on $10-35 for a ticket, plus drinks or food if you want them. A cheap night at the Tiny Cupboard or Brooklyn Comedy Collective can be $10-20 for the ticket. A big touring show at the Bell House can be $35 or more. Festival shows cost more across all rooms. Prices vary by show, so check the show page for the exact price.

Do I need tickets in advance?

Yes, for Friday and Saturday, and for any show with a name you know. Brooklyn Comedy Collective says its shows regularly sell out, and the Bell House and Union Hall both recommend buying early. Weekday shows are easier to walk into, but advance tickets are still safer.

Is there a drink minimum?

It depends on the room. Flop House states that it has no drink minimum. EastVille's own listings say no drink minimum in some places, but other listings for the same club conflict, so check the show page. I could not verify a clear drink minimum policy for the Bell House, Littlefield, Union Hall, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, or the Tiny Cupboard, so check the show page before you go and do not assume there is no minimum.

Are shows 18+ or 21+?

It depends on the room and the show. The Bell House is 21+. Littlefield lists 21+ for the shows on its site at the time I checked. Union Hall is 21+ after 6pm. Brooklyn Comedy Collective is 21+ at Eris and 18+ at the Pig Pen. I could not verify a clear age policy for EastVille, the Tiny Cupboard, or Flop House, so check the show page before you go, and bring valid photo ID.

What is the best comedy club in Brooklyn for a date?

Union Hall is the easiest date pick, because you can eat and drink upstairs and see comedy downstairs without changing venues. The Bell House is a good pick if you want a bigger, more polished night. EastVille is a good pick if you want a classic club room close to the subway.
